GOAN TRADITIONAL OCCUPATION

HELLO I am NASEEMA from Goa.Through this blog I would like to enlighten you about the Goan traditional occupation and services that the Goans render.

 Overflowing with tourist and the natives is the state of Goa,situated on the western coast of India.With its rich beauty and architecture it seeks attention from all over the world.
Goa an extraordinary and beautiful state enriched with fertile,soft,moist soils,the tall coconut towers moving gently with the breeze.Along with these extra beauties the Goans are not less than anyone.Their creativity,hard work ,enthusiasm,determination optimistic attitude encourage them perform certain traditional occupation such as:

➨ kharvis(fisherman)
➨ the chambar(cobbler)
➨ the mahar(bamboo and cane crafts person)
➨the barber
➨poder(baker)
and the practitioners of other professions like:
➨ the shetty( goldsmith)
➨ zo(idol makers who sculpt statues of wood  and ivory)
➨chari(blacksmith),
➨chittari(laquer work artisans)
➨ kansar(brass lamp and copper vessel maker).
